I took some really fun engagement photos the other day. I had seen something like this before, and today was the perfect day to try it. I think it really looks like their floating on clouds! (Isn't that how love feels anyway?)

Our Vacation!

Well, my family and I just got back from a much needed 2 week vacation. We went to Tybee Island, south of Savannah, Georgia. It's so beautiful there. It's hotter and stickier than MN, but when you're on the beach you don't even notice the heat.
I took some amazing images of my girls and my nieces in the cutest little tutu skirts on the beach. I just have to share those with everyone. It was so fun! I had people coming up to us, and wanting to take their own photos of the girls on the beach!
Besides playing in the water, we also took a carriage tour through Savannah. I love the history, and took some photos of course of our journey there. We also went to this great cemetary. Remember the movie, "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil"? That's the cemetary where the movie took place. We also saw the bench that "Forest" of "Forest Gump" sat when he ate his box of chocolates.

My Favorite Wedding Images...

Holy cow! I just realized that I haven't blogged since February! Shame on me!
Well, it's wedding season, and like most photographers, I've been very busy. I did however go through my weddings of 2008 so far to show off some of my favortie images. Hope you enjoy them!

NILMDTS

I had my first NILMDTS session this week. NILMDTS is an organization to help parents who are experiencing an early infant loss. The organization teams up with professional photographers who donate their talent to take beautiful photos of their terminally ill, premature, or recently passed infant.
This was my first session, so I followed another photographer to see how she handles this type of situation.
The baby was born at 24 weeks, and weighed only 9 ounces. I had never seen such a tiny, but perfect baby. As the mother wrapped the tiny baby in a pink, satin blanket, you could see the tears in her eyes. The only thing, I can think at this point, is that I hope we can take the best, and most beautiful pictures of her baby girl for her. There were moments of awkard silence at times, but we just focused on the baby, and how perfect she was.
After looking over the images I took, I was really glad that I had the opportunity to give this mother something she could have forever, to remember her precious daughter!

Photography Class

I just finished up this week, teaching a photography class for the Centennial Community Education Department. The title was "How To Take Better Pictures". It went really well! I hadn't taught a class in quite awhile, but it felt very natural. The responses were very good, and I think the class really learned from it!

Nate & Kathleen

Today, I had so much fun taking Nate & Kathleen's engagement pictures! We headed over to my favorite park, to take some fun outdoor pictures in the snow. It even snowed for us... a little bit. We had a lot of fun! I love capturing people's true emotions. They're definitely in love!! What a great couple!

Congratulations Carrie & David!

Carrie and David got married last Saturday, and I was more than happy to photograph their happy event! I had photographed some of their friend's weddings a few years prior, so it was nice to be able to see them again.
Carrie and David's winter wedding took place in a beautiful 100 year old church in St. Paul. It was beautiful inside and out! Since this was a winter wedding, we of course had to get some photos outside in the snow. Luckily the weather wasn't too bad.
It was a wonderful day for them, and I was glad that I got to share it with them, as well as capture some beautiful moments. Here are a couple of my favorite images...

Long Time...

Hello all, yes, it has been a LONG time since I blogged. Of course, Christmas for a photographer is one of our busiest times, so I haven't had the chance to blog anything.
Things are a bit slower, for now. Until wedding season! But, I was going to share that I will be teaching a community education class through the Centennial school district in February. The class is called, "How To Take Better Pictures". The class will focus on how to take better pictures of your family and children. It is a beginner class, so it doesn't matter what type of camera you have, or your experience in photography. We'll just focus on things like composition and lighting. There are still a few opening for the class if anyone is interested.
So, now that things have slowed, I though I would share some of my favorite images from the last couple of months. There's quite an array of images.

Trashing The Dress... Again!

Hello all, it has been quite awhile since I have been able to create a new blog. It's fall, which means ALOT of people want outdoor fall photos. So, I've been really busy photographing and editing all of these photos. But, I had to stop and join my friend Michelle Huber for our first photographer's workshop. We had a beautiful model in her wedding dress, with 5 photographers all photographing her at the same time! It was awesome! We were in Prescott, WI at Michelle's farm. It was great... corn fields, trees, barns and an old car. You MUST see some of these photos, there beautiful!! Anyone else interested in Trashing Your Dress???

Trash The Dress

Ok, for those who don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain. A photographer started this trend, where after your wedding day, you go out with a photographer and take creative, fun, and artsy photos with your wedding dress on. It's really fun! And I think Heather and Adam had fun too as we ventured out Sunday afternoon to three different locations for our trash-the-dress shoot. They were very brave as they entered the cool murky water, but they great, and the photos turned out awesome!! Take a peek at a couple we took. 60th Wedding Aniversary

How amazing to be married for 60 years! I had the great fortune of photographing some pictures of this long-time married couple at Gloria Dei Church in St. Paul, on Sunday. They were married at the very same church 60 years ago. I took pictures of them infront of the altar where they were married. I'm honored to be apart of their celebration!

Little Tenley

Look at this little cutie! Tenley is 6 months old and such a doll! It didn't seem like she was in the mood for pictures today, but we did get some really cute ones! Check out the picture with the parent's legs. You can't tell, but she was fussing the whole time. Don't worry Tenley, the photo sessions get easier as you grow up!

Sweet Baby Boys

I just had to post this photo of these sweet little boys. Aidan & Ethan, still just over 5 lbs each. Aren't they just adorable! They were born on July 4th, weighing just over 3 lbs each, and have finally come home from the hospital. I'm honored to have taken their first professional portraits!

Well, I figure everyone else is doing it, so I thought I'd try it too. I'll try to use this to feature fun new photos taken during the weeks. Right now is wedding season, so that's about all I've been doing lately. I had one Friday, and one Saturday! Both were really fun, and had great locations!
